The new Volkswagen Tiguan 2016 is soon up for release with many interesting features lined up. This is a 4 door compact crossover SUV and is expected to be 2.2 inches longer than the current model with wrap around tail lights and rounded wheel arches and a wheelbase of 184.6 inches which is 7.9 inches more than the current model.
The Tiguan was launched as a concept vehicle in 2006 at Los Angeles International auto show and was manufactured from 2007 by Auto 5000(subsidiary of Volkswagen) and is based on the PQ35 platform of the Volkswagen Golf. The name Tiguan is an amalgamation of the words: Tiger and Iguana.

The VW Tiguan 2016 engine is expected to have a similar powertrain of the current models. The SE, SEL and R-line with 4MOTION all have a 2 litres, 16 valve, in line 4 cylinder DOHC turbocharged engine with intercooler producing 200 HP and 207 lb per feet of torque. It has a fuel economy city/ highway ratio of 20mpg/26mpg. It has AWD with 6 speed automatic transmission.

The 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan is slated to have some solid safety features like those in the current model such as Intelligent Crash Response System, Crash optimized front end and advanced safety cage. Although the Volkswagen Tiguan 2016 is working on slashing its prices, the current price remains approx $26,000 to $39,000 for the Standard trim to the R-Line With 4MOTION trims.
