The German auto maker Porsche has recently announced a remodelled version of their 12 year old SUV, Cayenne. Porsche Cayenne 2017 will undergo a lot of design changes, with elements heavily borrowed from their Panamera series. Engines, specially the V6, will get more powerful and efficient. Equipments and gadgets will be upgraded too, to keep up with changing times. All these advancements will make this new edition one of the fastest and most luxurious SUV in the market.
Porsche Cayenne 2017 Engine Specs
The latest Porsche Cayenne 2017 will probably have multiple engine choices. Standard will be a 3.6 litre engine with Direct Fuel Injection and twin turbocharger generating over 300 hp and 290 lb ft of torque. Based on the engine used in previous models, this V6 will have a fuel consumption of around 20 mpg. There is a possibility of a 4 litre V8 being introduced, generating over 400 hp. European markets could get a diesel 2.9 litre V6 and hybrid power train that couple pairs of electric motor and a 3 litre V6. Tiptronic-S will control the 8 speed automatic transmission. An auto start and stop function will be a standard feature. Different driving modes will be available, to suit the driver’s need as their surroundings demand.
Porsche Cayenne 2017 Exterior and Interior
As with any Porsche, Cayenne will have a long list of features that span security, entertainment and driving dynamics. 2017 Porsche Cayenne will be aided by Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, automatic brake differential, Porsche Hill Control, Air Suspension, Anti-lock braking system, anti-slip regulation, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, Off-Road Under body Protection and Porsche Traction Management while driving.
Sophistication inside Porsche Cayenne 2017 will increase as the trim level increases. Burmester or Bose surround sound audio system will be paired with Porsche Car Connect. This feature could be accessed by the central touch enabled console, along with the security settings, climate control, Porsche Dynamic Lighting System, cellular and wireless connectivity. Climate control will come with an air filtration unit that can control the moisture and odour. Wireless connectivity will include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Sirius Satellite Radio, HD radio and 4G LTE.
This car will keep the old circular and typically Porsche headlight design as used in older models. Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) will automatically adjust the headlights, given the environment and condition the car is. Headlight cluster will either use LED or bi-Xenon bulbs. Tail Lights stretching across the back is drawn from Panamera Turbo’s design. It suits this SUV equally well. Slight touches have been applied to the front air intake grille and bumper.
Porsche Cayenne 2017 Price and Release Date
Porsche Cayenne 2017 will have a base price of around $50,000. Highest trim, with V8 engines will cost a whopping $110,000. Being gifted with Porsche’s technologies, Cayenne is an extremely beautiful looking SUV that has immense power under its hood, but has a look that speaks of cool, not monstrosity. It is expected to be available in markets worldwide in the second half or 2016 or first quarter of 2017.
