Chrysler makes some great vehicles. Now, the company is planning to recreate its minivans from the ground up. The latest 2017 Chrysler Town and Country is a good example of what the company has to offer. This new offering from Chrysler has an independent suspension for both the front and rear of the vehicle. It will also be offered as a hybrid version.
2017 Chrysler Town and Country Design
When we saw this car being tested we were not able to make out all the details because the new Chrysler Town and Country was heavily camouflaged. Even so, we did notice that the front fascia is new and it seems to be inspired by the Chrysler 200. Overall, the Town and Country has a very sleek body shape and it also incorporates a number of Dodge elements, which however may not be included when the car enters the production stage. The restyled vehicle is not as long as the earlier model and in addition it is slightly taller as well.
On the side, the Town and Country looks quite like the 700C concept but it does not have those outlandish side windows. The rear of the vehicle looks very upscale and helps to make the car look more attractive.
We could not look into the interior of the new 2017 Chrysler Town and Country because the vehicle was so heavily wrapped up. However, we know that inside the cabin the carmaker has installed a steering wheel that is typically a Dodge style steering wheel. The instrument cluster is all digital and there will also be a nice infotainment system installed within the cabin. We did manage to see some wood trims and these were looking good along with the metallic accents. A rotary gear selector is also available. The interiors also get a facelift and the carmaker also plans to offer a number of technologically advanced goodies like the well-loved Uconnect interface with a nice large screen, which is installed in the dashboard. The carmaker may also introduce a digital screen, which will be placed within the instrument cluster.
2017 Chrysler Town and Country Engine Specs
Chrysler has not provided any official information about the kinds of engines it plans to offer with the new 2017 Chrysler Town and Country. However, a 3.6-liter V6 engine will definitely be available and it will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid version will also be offered but the company has not provided any details about this as yet. It may even go with a turbo 4-cylinder engine. AWD is also available.
2017 Chrysler Town and Country Release Date and Price
The 2017 Chrysler Town and Country will probably make its US debut at the North American International Auto Show, which will be held in January next year. The 2017 Chrysler Town and Country will probably have a price tag for the base model of 31, 000 dollars. This is the kind of price that customers will willingly pay and it should also help the carmaker steal a march over its competitors. The high-end model with all equipment and features should cost about 40, 000 dollars and more. The Town and Country faces competition from the likes of the Opel/Vauxhall Zafira and from the Honda Odyssey and Dodge Grand Caravan as well as the Toyota Sienna.
