To mark the 100th anniversary of the German automaker, the company is launching the 2017 BMW 5-Series codenamed as G30. This executive class sedan will be offer in other body styles like Touring and Gran Turismo. It goes without saying that you can only expect nothing but the best out of this brand, which is apparent with the changes they have got lined up for the upcoming release. With changes to its exterior, interior features and a new lineup of engines, this car is expected to rule the roster with superb sense of style and unparalleled level of superb performance.
2017 BMW 5-Series Exterior and Interior
The 2017 BMW 5 series is an evolution of its predecessor. Being the 7th generation model, this vehicle is expected to boast of aggressive body features that are more in sync with present desires. We expect rehashed front fascias, revised engine hood, reshaped side panels and modified headlights incorporated with LED lighting that lights up even the darkest of conditions. Its grille would now be wider but slightly slimmer, new tailights will make an entry, exhausts would get bigger so as to accentuate the car’s aggressiveness quotient. Apart from these changes, there will also be new side mirrors alongside modified side skirts.
Inside of 2017 BMW 5-Series is still shrouded with mystery but if reports are to be believed, this car will follow the lead of the redesigned BMW 7-series. You can expect leather embroidered seats, bigger cabin to accommodate passengers with ample head/leg room, revised dashboard that is fully equipped with all the modern functions and a new button layout for center stack.
This luxury vehicle will have softer materials spread all over its cabin, enhanced safety features, better connectivity via Bluetooth and USB, along with various other features like rear-parking sensors, satellite navigation and safety airbags.
2017 BMW 5-Series Engine Details
The 2017 BMW 5-Series will offer a choice between 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder engine and 3.0 litre, inline-six cylinder engine. It is still not clear whether this vehicle will make use of V8 technology or an upgraded version of 4.4 litre engine that is found in the current model. A hybrid version is also reportedly in its process of development. The 5 series will be able to produce a maximum of 460 horsepower with its highest range model. Due to lesser weight, the engine should be able to deliver better fuel efficiency along with unprecedented performance levels. We are still waiting news regarding drive variants, but four-wheel drive version seems like a plausible option.
2017 BMW 5-Series Price and Release Date
Taking into account all the improvements, BMW 5 series should not cost much more than its current version. Its base version will likely cost around $50,000 and go higher up according to trim levels. We are expecting this car to become available sometime later in 2016 or in the early months of 2017. Once the 2017 BMW 5-Series releases, it will face stiff competition from two other top German automakers- Audi and Mercedes.
