The 2016 Toyota Camry is a mid size four door luxury sedans manufactured in Japan since 1982 and has been one of the chart toppers in US for the last 13 years and a very popular one in Australia too. A new Camry, redesigned and re-engineered will be available from August 2015 till early Jan 2016. Although the special edition Toyota Camry uses the new Camry SE as inspiration, it also adds newer features while rebuilding almost 2000 parts save the roof which would definitely make it a heady mix of refinement and technology.
2016 Toyota Camry Exterior and Interior
The new sharp and sleek exterior will receive a fresh coat of two brilliant colours, Blue Streak Metallic and Blizzard Pearl which seems worthy of the tag of Special Edition. Shiny black accented and bigger wheel size of 18 inches alloy with brand new smoked tail lights gives it a polished look and feel.
The sedan features brand new interiors with a premium look and feel. The seats are nicely done up with shiny black suede leather with blue contrast sporty fabric fittings and raised blue machine stitch design which gives a sense of fashion and luxury. The distinctive chrome interiors of the new 2016 Toyota Camry, the trendy dashboard and gauge cluster are all a pleasure for the sight. Optional features on the SE or XSE trim such as Entune Audio Plus six inches sound system interface which also doubles up as a infotainment system providing traffic details via satellite are part and parcel of this sedan. Other standard features include push button ignition, power slide sunroof and Qi wireless interface for smart phone charging, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, rear view camera and a nice, comfortable steering wheel.
2016 Toyota Camry Engine Specs
As in the SE, the Special Edition will be available with a 178 HP four cylinder 2.5 litres engine capable of 170 lb torque and featuring a front wheel drive with better suspension and handling as well as antilock disc brakes. With the available info, it should take approx 8 sec to make 0-60.
The optional 268 V6 on the SE & XSE trims with its superb power delivery could also be considered. But with a top speed of 125 m/hr and its efficient traction, the 178 HP would be good choice as well.
The 2016 Toyota Camry Special Edition would probably have a city/ highway ratio of 25 mpg/35mpg.
As is the standard feature in a Camry, this one too would have proper handling and stability, front/rear airbags as well as side curtain airbags for back and front and knee airbags. It also could include 8 way power driver seats.
2016 Toyota Camry Price and Release Date
Though details of its price remain unclear, the 2016 Toyota Camry would somewhere fall between $23,800 and $27,600, the prices of LE & the top trim XSE respectively or could go a little higher. Although only 12000 units will be available, the Toyota Camry Special Edition 2016 is a fetching ride in every way. On the market is expected in the second half of 2016.
