The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder will be a facelift version of the existing model of the car. The upcoming version will be made available in as many as 4 trims – S, SL, SV and Platinum. This will be a spacious vehicle, with more head, leg and shoulder space for driver and passengers. The dashboard will be constructed out of a new kind of material and will boast of a clearer layout. There will be a number of interesting features in this car, such as Bluetooth, USB, an excellent audio system, a rear view camera, an improved navigation system and an 8-inch display. The car exterior will be based on the D platform of Nissan. It will have a unibody design, with the front end being almost the same and the rear end being a little different. It will have a new set of tail lamps. The updated exterior will come with slightly modified tail and head lamps with standard LED technology. There will be varied inserts in the side skirts and rear and front bumpers to make it appear a bit tougher in appearance and keep the bumpers safe on roads that are unpaved.

The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder will be offered with 2 varied engine options – a 2.5 L, 4-cylinder engine which can produce 250 hp of peak power and a 3.5 L V6 engine that can produce a maximum torque of 240 pound-feet and a peak power of 260 hp. Both the engines of the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder will be coupled with Xtronic constantly variable transmission gearbox with front wheel drive and all wheel drive.
The updated transmission is likely to have a direct bearing on the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The mileage will also depend on the drive mode of the car. The hybrid version will be able to return a mileage of 25 mpg on the city roads and 26 – 28 mpg on the highways. The 3.5 L, V-6 engine will be able to return a mileage of 19 mpg on the city roads and 21 – 25 mpg on highways with all wheel drive and 20 mpg in busy city traffic and 22 – 26 mpg on the bigger roads with front wheel drive.

Nissan is rumored to have plans to launch this crossover in the latter half of the current year. There is no official word about the pricing as yet, but it is expected to start from 30,000 USD for the basic models of the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder.
